Author Introduction

Nguyen Le is a journalist, film critic, subtitler, and film consultant who studied and worked in the United States. He has written for both international and Vietnamese outlets such as FANGORIA, Texas Observer, RogerEbert.com, Houston Chronicle, AwardsWatch, InSession Film, Saigoneer, Vietcetera, among others — all with the shared goal of spotlighting Asian, Vietnamese, and overlooked cinematic voices and stories.

He is a member of several international critics' associations, including Critics' Choice, FIPRESCI, GALECA, and the International Cinephile Society.

Nguyen has also worked as an English subtitler for many Vietnamese productions (such as Tết Ở Làng Địa Ngục and Thám Tử Kiên: Kỳ Án Không Đầu), and occasionally as a Vietnamese subtitler for international films (Bolero, Perfect Days) presented at the inaugural Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival.

He currently serves as the Vietnam Film Consultant for the Far East Film Festival held annually in Udine, Italy, every April.
