Synopsis

The film follows the arduous journey of Vietnamese soldiers during the war against the United States as they construct a strategic fuel pipeline through the Trường Sơn Mountains to support the southern front. Through characters like General Lê Dinh, the soldier Nghĩa, and the young couple Đức and Mai, the film portrays the courage, sacrifice, and deep bonds of love that flourished amid the battlefield. From fierce combat to heartbreaking losses, the story recreates a heroic chapter in Vietnam’s history - where ordinary people forged legends through extraordinary acts.

Director's biography

Meritorious Artist Bùi Tuấn Dũng (born July 12, 1972, in Thái Thụy, Thái Bình Province) is a director currently working at the Vietnam Feature Film Studio. He is among the notable young filmmakers who rose to prominence in the early 21st century, with achievements in both feature films and television. He has also served as a jury member at major national film festivals, including the Golden Kite Awards and the Vietnam Film Festival.
