LOTUS KITCHEN
Synopsis
Ritsu Katsuragi is a middle aged woman who by chance receives an inheritance, which prompts her to move to Tokushima. While exploring the unknown story of her uncle and his Vietnamese wife, she gets to know a hardworking community of Vietnamese people, which introduces her to their unique cuisine that is closely tied with nature.
Director's biography
Mitsuhito Shiraha graduated from Nihon University College of Art, and made his debut film there, She’s Rain (1993). His notable works are Noto no Hana Yome (2008), Kobe Zaiju (2015), and What’s for Dinner, Mom? (2016) which was an official entry in the San Sebastian International Film Festival. His most recent works are Mitorishi (2019), School Lunch of Ashiya City (2022), and Be My Guest, Be My Baby (2023). He is a member of the Directors Guild of Japan.
