Synopsis

Yvonne Nguyen, a French-Vietnamese actress, dreams of a successful career in musicals while her mother wants her to pursue a more serious path. When she has to move back to her mother’s, both women are strangers to each other. But in the intimacy of the Vietnamese family restaurant’s kitchen, they grow closer. Meanwhile, Yvonne is still after her dreams and finally gets the chance to audition for a big show.

Director's biography

Stéphane is a French screenwriter and director. He studied cinema in Paris and New York. He has directed several short films, including Paradisco (2002), Spring leaves (2015) and Jasmine Lane (2019). He is also co-screenwriter of Hiver à Sokcho (2024) directed by Koya Kamura, based on the novel by Elisa Shua Dusapin. Stéphane has also written and directed musical shows, and collaborated on books on musical comedy.
