The Da Nang City People's Committee and the Vietnam Film Promotion Association have agreed on a plan to organize the fourth Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) in 2026.
Accordingly, DANAFF 2026 is scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 4, 2026. The event aims to elevate international film cooperation, promote the image of Da Nang, and boost the development of Vietnam's film industry.
With the slogan "DANAFF - Bridging Asia to the World ," the main activities of this year's festival include: the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony, and the awards presentation, which will be held at the Ariyana International Convention Center in Da Nang City.
In addition, there will be screenings of films in competition and non-competition; professional activities, training, and film promotion. The festival will also include side events: the DANAFF booth; press meetings with filmmakers; and interactions with Vietnamese and international film stars...
Notably, DANAFF 2026 features numerous professional events: a seminar on the film industry, intellectual property protection, and the face of Vietnamese cinema after 40 years of reform; advanced training courses with international experts; a Young Talent program; a film project market; networking within the film industry; screenwriting training; and building a community of film enthusiasts, DANAFF's Cinephiles.
The film festival continues to present awards for outstanding Asian and Vietnamese films, as well as for best director, actor, and screenplay. The top prize in the Asian film category is worth 135 million VND; the jury, actor, director, and screenplay awards range from 54 to 81 million VND.
The Vietnamese film category has a fairly high total prize money, with the best film receiving 70 million VND. In addition, there are the NETPAC award, the Critics' Award, and the Audience Award for the most popular Vietnamese film.
DANAFF 2026 is expected to attract around 900 delegates, artists, filmmakers, and experts, including approximately 200 international guests.
According to the Da Nang City People's Committee, within the overall picture of cultural industry development, DANAFF is gradually becoming a distinctive highlight of the city, linking cinema with tourism , creativity, and international exchange.
The film festival not only brings cultural value but also contributes to promoting Da Nang's image as a dynamic, open, and creative city capable of organizing regional and international-scale cultural and artistic events.
