DANAFF III – A Cultural Highlight of Da Nang and Asian Cinema
Held in Da Nang, DANAFF III was not only a film festival for screenings but also a space for exchange, dialogue, and connection within Asian cinema, contributing to the promotion of Vietnam’s image through the language of film.
In 2025, DANAFF III recorded clear development in terms of scale, duration, and depth of content, becoming a cultural rendezvous that attracted the attention of professionals, the press, and audiences both domestically and internationally. Its repeated selection among the Top 10 Outstanding Cultural Events reflects the festival’s vitality within the contemporary cultural landscape.

Film Promotion Activities Linked to Cultural and People-to-People Diplomacy
Alongside DANAFF III, 2025 also marked a significant milestone for Vietnam’s film promotion activities led and coordinated by the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA), closely integrating cultural diplomacy with people-to-people diplomacy.
A highlight was the Vietnam Film Week – The Journey of Light, held for the first time in Paris, which introduced 17 representative Vietnamese films to French audiences and international friends, while opening a space for cultural exchange and dialogue through cinema.
In addition, Vietnam Night and a series of film-related seminars held at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan contributed to strengthening the presence of Vietnamese cinema at major Asian film hubs, fostering connections between Vietnamese filmmakers and international partners.

DANAFF in VFDA’s Strategy for Film Development Promotion
Within the overall scope of activities in 2025, DANAFF III played the role of a domestic and international connecting axis, bringing together film screenings, professional exchanges, training programs, and project development activities. The festival not only enriched Da Nang’s cultural life but also served as a platform supporting the sustainable development of Vietnamese cinema in the context of international integration.
The fact that three consecutive editions, from DANAFF I to DANAFF III, were selected by Sports & Culture Newspaper among the Top 10 Outstanding Cultural Events represents recognition of the festival’s serious, well-structured, and in-depth organization, while also reflecting VFDA’s strategic direction in linking cinema with cultural diplomacy and international exchange.
DANAFF IV is scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 4, 2026, under the theme “Bridging Asia to the World,” and is expected to offer new and engaging programs for the summer of 2026.
