Author Introduction

Martine Thérouanne is the co-founder and director of the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema (FICA) in France, established in 1995. She is also a board member of NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema).

Her dedication to cinema has been recognized with numerous prestigious national and international honors, including Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur (2012), the Korean Cinema Award (2018), and the Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters (2021).

Martine Thérouanne has served as a jury member at many prominent international film festivals, such as the Busan International Film Festival (2010, 2023), the Hanoi International Film Festival (2012), the Osian’s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema (2008), and the Tashkent International Film Festival (2022). She was also the President of the Jiseok Jury at the 28th edition of the Busan International Film Festival.
