BLACK DOG
Synopsis
Released from jail, Lang returns to his hometown in Northwest China. As part of a dog patrol tasked with clearing stray dogs before the 2008 Olympics, he bonds with a black stray. The two lonely souls embark on a new journey together.
Director's biography
Guan Hu is a director, screenwriter and producer. In the 1990s, Guan Hu directed a handful of films, making a name as an important voice of the sixth generation, most notably with his debut, Dirt (1994). His other films that received various awards are: Cow (2009), The Chef, the Actor, the Scoundrel (2013), Mr. Six (2015). The latest Black Dog (2024) was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival 2024.
